Stella Anning Trio (STAT) brings electric guitar, soulful vocals and jazz-school harmony together in a tight, groove-driven ensemble exploring the spaces between jazz, soul and folk.

Led by Naarm/Melbourne guitarist, composer and songwriter Stella Anning, the trio draws on deep improvisational roots to create music that is raw, rhythmic and constantly in motion. Fiery guitar work, poignant vocals and dynamic interplay sit alongside unexpected harmonic turns, creating a sound that is both sophisticated and visceral.

Following the latest release of Stella’s Yellow Brick Veneer, the trio has toured extensively across Australia, performing at festivals including the Clarence Jazz Festival, Folk Rhythm and Life, Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival and Fusion on Fitzroy St.

The trio has just completed recording its next album, marking a new chapter in Stella’s guitar-driven work. Audiences can expect a sneak peek of this new collection of music alongside the trio’s signature blend of deep grooves, soulful songwriting and adventurous improvisation.
