Joeys Coop // Ten Gallon Head

  • The Post Office Hotel 229-231 Sydney Rd Coburg, VIC, 3058 Australia (map)

Joeys Coop is the vehicle for the songs of guitarist Brett Myers – founder and principal songwriter of the legendary Died Pretty – and vocalist Mark Roxburgh - singer/songwriter of 80s critically acclaimed band, Decline of the Reptiles.

Their second album, Lachlan Valley Dirt has been garnering praise for its ‘…lyrically revealing’ and ‘…poignant’ songcraft and for its production from Simon Berckelman (Cloud Control).

With a rhythm section comprising drummer Lloyd G – whose huge CV lists Lionel Ritchie, Skyhooks, Christine Anu, Perry Keyes and many others – and bassist Marc Lynch – whose pedigree includes Glide and Steve Kilbey's solo band – Joeys Coop are a stunning live act.

The band is joined by Melbourne’s powerpop / psychedelic / glam / post-punk merchants Ten Gallon Head, who are also firing on all cylinders on stage. Driven by a solid guitar/keyboard/bass/drums line-up, the band veers into some textured sonics and highly original riffs and hooks.
