Justin Ashworth // Casey / Bebenek

An evening of exploratory, improvisational forms, veering through the avant-garde realms of ambient, drone, soundscape, and noisier possibilities. Artists weaving together live instrumentation, synthesis, field recordings and sound objects, using new and old technologies to bring you a deep listening experience.

Three sets, featuring:

Justin Ashworth (solo) navigating sonic memories with modular synthesiser and other electronics, in what becomes an inadequate form of time travel; complete with all the usual risks of such an adventure, with each trip to the past altering the future of the project.

Casey/Bebenek (duo) is a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist composer, Adam Casey (Seascapes of the Interior/The Boy Who Spoke Clouds/ex-Trappist Afterland), and drum/percussion prodigy, Julia Bebenek (Lijuka/Nandi). CASEY BEBENEK play extended free form improvisations that eschew entertainment, with a powerful focus on audience communion and engagement with our natural world.

The final set will feature all three artists in a first time trio collaboration.
