SUZANNAH ESPIE I'm Sorry' Single Launch

Suzannah Espie    'I'm Sorry' Single Launch            5pm-7pm tickets via Oztix

Plus Special Guest TBA

Suzannah Espie’s sound is an intoxicating mix of country, folk, blues, and soul. A gentle, sweet trill that can move grown men to tears one moment, or an Aretha-esque hellcat belt that can raise the roof the next. On Friday 12 June Espie releases ‘I’m Sorry’ – the first single from her forthcoming album ‘Mother’s Not Feeling Herself Today’. Her new LP is an anticipated follow up to her breakthrough 2012 record ‘Sea of Lights’, which won Rhythms Magazine ‘Album of The Year’, was picked in The Age EGs Top 15 Albums of 2012, and placed Espie firmly on the industry’s must watch list. In celebration Suzannah plays the Post Office Hotel on Sunday 12th July 5-7pm.

“There’s no shortage these days of fey-voiced singer/songwriters. So thank the heavens and the lung gods for Suzannah Espie, a woman who’s not afraid to sing, really sing. And yowza, can she.” (**** The Age)

“Some of the finest country-soul vocals you’ll hear in your life” (***** Jason Walker, MAG)

Xylouris Ensemble May Residency

Xylouris Ensemble play from 4pm-6pm every Saturday in May   FREE

Check out last week's video! http://ow.ly/NAdCh

Saturdays in May at the Post Office will bring Cretan-Australian musicians Nikos, Adonis and Apollonia Xylouris together to pick up the rich Xylouris Ensemble thread spun by their father Psarogiorgos (Giorgos Xylouris) and mother Shelagh Hannan in the early 90s, and continuing to take new forms now. The Xylouris will be playing with original Ensemble members Mairéad and Dee Hannan and Alice Garner, alongside cousin and percussionist Rory Hannan, with the Ensemble continuing its evolution as an inter-generational group playing a unique combination of Cretan and original Melbourne-crafted music.

Giorgos Xylouris is currently touring in Europe and the US with Xylouris White, his genre-smashing duo with Jim White, so cannot join us for the residency. What you will hear is the inimitable combination of Cretan lyra, lutes, mandolin, voices, violin, cello and percussion, weaving old and new musical paths together.

The Xylouris Ensemble has recorded many albums, the most recent being AERA, released in 2014, featuring original music by Giorgos Xylouris, Mairéad Hannan as well as reworkings of traditional Cretan tunes.

Adam North has built his impressive reputation on two things - beef and business. He’s a beef expert, an avid industry advocate, a public educator, and a restaurateur.

While Adam’s passion for produce starts on the farm, it’s taken him around the globe to meet the world’s most inspiring foodies.

He hosted the Facebook webseries #Steakdiaries, and has run master classes on everything from butchery to barbecues, whilst at home award-winning Hopkins River Beef has grown to be one of the most respected suppliers of quality meat in Victoria.

Hopkins River pride themselves on their level of cattle care, with a focus on a top-notch diet, and treating their cattle in a manner that minimises stress. You can taste the benefits of this approach in the flavor and texture of the end result.

Pepperjack Wines

If you haven’t noticed, Pepperjack is becoming a little obsessed with steak. Winemaker Richard Mattner is a true steak lover and has been working on some exciting projects back at the Saltram Cellar Door with the Salter’s Kitchen Head Chef Scott Liddell. Just as different cuts have different flavour, texture and appeal - so does wine. These two have been slaving away in the kitchen tasting and matching cuts of meat with certain types of red to find the perfect match in flavour and texture.  Tough job right?  The result was the creation of two wines that best suited the characters of two prime cuts; Pepperjack Graded McLaren Vale Scotch Fillet Shiraz and Pepperjack Graded Langhorne Creek Porterhouse Shiraz.
