7th Birthday - Black Sistaz // Jess Locke // Kozmik County // Go Get Mum

The Post Office Hotel is turning 7 this year and to celebrated we've got a whole cross section of bands playing at the pub. Kitchen will be rocking all day, plus we'll have a DJ in the beer garden all afternoon. Make sure you get on down to this community gig and show your love for Coburg's faviourite watering hole.
Music starts at 2pm and runs though till 7pm and below is who we've got playing for ya!

Go Get Mum are the Melbourne three-piece writing songs about getting drunk, the complexities of love, and that funny city just over the border, Adelaide. In the past year they've shared stages with The Pretty Littles, Rolling Blackout Coastal Fever, Localles and Deep Scene (you know that's Darren for Kisschasy's band, right?!) Garry, Izzy and Woody have spent February recording and are excited to tell you their tales.

The Black Sistaz – who have taken stories of survival and strength for a free West Papua and created a unique sound of Island reggae and soul meets traditional Melanesian sounds, language and sweet harmonies. The Black Sistaz are a celebration of identity, strength and woman hood. Their music comes with a message, and with their message comes a movement.

Kozmik County play early 70ʼs Eastern psychedelic music. The groups rhythm section features bass and two drummers creating an undeniable wall of rhythmic trance beats that will punch a new hole in your reality. Melodies are played on San Pedro violin and the very psychedelic electric baglama. Kozmik County will take you beyond space and time.

Jess Locke has spent a long time performing in unconventional spaces such as water parks, cemeteries, roundabouts, bookshops and back porches. She has released a string of lo-fi bedroom recordings that that mirror the minimalistic and intimate nature of her live performances. Jess is set to release a new album later in 2017.
